OPENING RECEPTION

The heart and soul of Padova beats at PALAZZO DELLA RAGIONE!

 

With its 82 meters length, 27 meters width and 80 meters height, without any column, this impressive hall was once the City Court.

It is believed to be one of the largest medieval halls still extant; the hall is nearly rectangular, all walls are occupied by frescoes.

The gigantic wooden was built in 1466 and it is believed to be a model of Donatello's Equestrian statue of Gattamelata which is in place in front of the Saint Antony Basilica. On the eastern side there is a contemporary version of a Foucault pendulum.

The ground floor called “Sotto il Salone” is occupied by the City’s covered market, with an extraordinary sequence of meat, fish, vegetables, pasta fresca shops.

The two loggias and the ground floor will host an unforgettable Welcome Cocktail.

MUSIC EVENT

CASTELLO CARRARESE is located in the heart of the city, and offers a unique view of La Specola, the tower from which Galileo Galilei made some of his discoveries in astronomy. It is worth to say that Galileo taught geometry, mechanics, and astronomy at the University of Padova from 1592 to 1610: as he had the opportunity to write, “the best 18 years of my life”

The Castle is undergoing an important restoration which will be completed by 2023, to convert its space into an international design museum, and to preserve its monumental walls and frescoes.

Its vast courtyard regularly hosts theatre and music festivals during the summer months.

Padova has a great tradition in music with the Pollini Conservatory, an internationally renown institution. Padova has two orchestras: the Solisti Veneti and the and the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, performing a classical repertoire.

CONGRESS BANQUET

PADOVA CONGRESS will open again its doors in the evening with a completely different, festive setting: its front façade and the large foyer will be set up for an unforgettable gala dinner.

Italian food needs no presentation, every effort will be made to make the Congress Banquet an unforgettable experience.
